A female reader, aunt honesty Ireland +, writes (15 December 2010):

aunt honesty agony auntYou just need to get the confidence to talk to him, nobody can do this but you. When you are alone with him just strike up conversation with him like you would do if your friend was beside you. Talk to him get to know him more, find out his interests and what kind of things he likes.

Maybe mention a film or a gig that you really want to go to and ask him does he like them, if he does then why not invite him to go along with you. That way if he agrees ask him then for his number so that you can contact him to make arrangement.

I know it can be a scary thought asking him these things, but try not and think about it just come out and ask him.

goodluck.
