A female Canada age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I really like this guy, but I am not sure what is going on or what I should do. Opinions, comments please.

I've known about this guy for about a year, I never really had time to talk to him though, I really only started to get to know him and hang out with him since March (so about three months). He's sweet, ambitious, family-oriented, energetic, and incredibly handsome. The problem is he is 8 1/2 years older than me (I'm turning 18 in a few days, he is 26 turning 27 in December)and he is my best friends brother, though I really don't think she'd mind...she keeps mentioning how I need someone like her brother.

Anyways here are some of the things he does:

* Teases me lots

* He loves teaching me stuff and explaining things, very patient

* Whenever I’m over at the house, if we are in the part of the house with the piano, he always plays something, occasionally glancing at me

* When we go to the movies together he’ll sometimes sit right beside me and on occasion I catch him staring at me, total head turn, or he’ll watch me when I laugh, and when I look over he is smiling at me. Also when he sits right next to me he is very very fidgety, he can’t seem to sit still

* When my friend is off somewhere else in the house, or sitting right beside me, he comes in just to chat with me or relay a funny story, but he’ll walk in and out of the room like 5 times, always smiling, sometimes he’ll come sit down right next to me, in some cases he’ll lie right beside me and talk to me

* He asks my opinion on his looks

* Always asks things about me, favourite food, my habits, etc.

He left a few days ago, he is going to be gone for a month or two and I was there the day he left

* He was talking to me and his sister and he said to his sister, "will you miss me?" and then turns to me and says (with a goofy smile) "I know you'll miss me"

* Before he got into the car he hugged his entire family and then looked at me, opened his arms, walked towards me, raised his eyebrows, smiling, and gave me a big hug

What are your thoughts on all of this.

P.S. Whenever I post a question about him everyone points out that sex is illegal, I just want to point out that I do not plan to have sex with him, I am saving myself for my husband, and awhile ago I even had this discussion with him and he had said that he was waiting til marriage too, so sex is not a factor.

A female reader, anonymous, writes (17 May 2009):

Well he sounds like a dream guy except one thing. I don't think age is a biggie, but if he is 26, shouldn't he be settled or in a serious relationship by now. That's just me, but he sounds lovely.

Lucky you
