I have a small mouth and had 8 adult teeth (along with my wisdom teeth) pulled to give me some room, but my bottom teeth are still crowded to the point of one tooth jutting in front of the rest. On top, I have stains on my very large front two teeth (from antibiotics) and my teeth are a variety of sizes, so typical braces wouldn't give me a lot of help here in terms of perfecting my smile. If it were possible and somewhat affordable, I would have them all pulled and have a "nice smile installed"... but is that possible? Do people actually have this done? What does it cost, roughly, to get a "new smile"? I don't make enough money to have a ton of disposable income, but if it was the kind of thing I could save for over a couple of years, I would do it.

So I ended up going to Colombia - here it would ahve cost me over 5,000 back there it cost me less than half of that. I loved it. I also had my LASIK surgery there for 500 dollars 3 years ago, so it was very much worth it. It is a great palce of medical tourism. Whatever you do always even here on US look for reviews of the dentist, before going.

If you look at pictures of lindsay lohan's teeth from a few months ago, and then look at more recent images of her smile you will notice she went from having damaged and stained teeth to having a white, bright, perfect smile. That is what veneers do. They can also be applied in such a way that they can hide teeth that protrude.
I suggest you research some local cosmetic dentists and regular dentists who apply veneers. You should be able to find one who provides a cheap or free consultation where you can discuss your options to improve your smile and any concerns (including finances) you may have.

they won't pull teeth and give you dentures (which good ones will run around 3-5 grand...
and implants... my dad had some.. it took 2 days and $17,000
Flexible medical spending accounts can be used for dental if you have that option at work.
I have lousy dental insurance and I hate my teeth too... but the dentist refuses to pull them and give me dentures even though I've asked...
Call around to the local dental schools and see if you have any options with them.
Also there are credit cards with outrageously high interest that are JUST for medical and dental bills..

I think the best option for you would be to go and discuss this with your dentist. Make an appointment, tell him your financial situation and ask what can be done. Then you can come up with a plan on how you can get it done and how long it will take.
