Dear, Uh, Cupid.

I know this is a very boring, basic, conceded question and I apologize for that but, I feel just gross. I hate what I look like. It might be just because of my eczema, and so I /feel/ disgusting most of the time but ew.

Looking in the mirror just isn't fun.

How do it get over this feeling?

PsyCookie agony auntOne of my female friend has eczema but she has a great body and a really pretty face. She really doesn't see this, though, because she focuses on her eczema more than her natural beauty.

Like many said, just focus on your other good physical qualities, which I'm sure you have many. While you may have a bad skin condition, you may have great hair and beautiful eyes. Or greatly shaped legs or a nice rack!

But you're really not alone in this. Most women at any age will feel uglier than what they really look like. They may see the tinyiest flaw (like a small mole or somethin) as the most terribly thing and will think people will only focus on that. It's human nature, I guess, we like to put ourselves down before anyone does so if anyone says something bad about us, it won't hurt us as much.

Yes, I know eczema is something very visible and people can be stupid and ignorant about it, but it's also something treatable. But meanwhile, focus on building your character. One of the main reasons I hanged out with the friend I mentioned above is because she had a great sense of humor and made me laugh a lot. Also, she had an extended knowledge in video games, and we had fun conversations about them. Because she was great fun and had a very magnetic personality, people would not even notice when she had her eczema outbrakes.

Oh, a good thing to do to raise your self-esteem that I had done for a while is that whenever I wake up and go brus my teeth, I first look myself in the mirror, try to smile and tell myself "I'm a beautiful person, both inside and out". At first you will think it's a lie and it's all stupid, but if you keep on doing it you will end up believing it (I say this through experience)

Good luck!

LaydeeOfSorrows agony auntI know how you feel, I have eczema too.

I just try to focus on my good qualities, which usually outweighs the bad.

Most girls your age aren't happy with how they look, but in time, you'll grow into your looks.

I use celeston for my eczema, and it does help.

Good luck!

xx

You know what's funny, even the most beautiful person you know looks in the mirror and finds something they hate looking at. I'm not going to feed you the B.S. about loving yourself no matter what cause that's so easy for nice looking people to say. I fix what you don't like but don't go over board. If you you have eczema go to the store and get medicine for it. If you think you're look too big, exercise (don't just diet cause that will get you no where). If you don't like what you see, you got to work to change it.The only thing standing between you and a better looking you is work and will power!!!!

honey don't feel bad a lot of people have eczema. I have it and i always feel disgusting when i wear a tank top or something. I am sure your not gross. Everyone has a problem when they look in the mirror. I think i am soo ugly when i look in it. How you can get over it is if you don't like the way you look then try experimenting with make-up or try a new hairstyle. It works trust me i have tried it.
