Still cramping but the flow is no longer heavy and it's only been 3 days. : ( I'm gonna have a day off soon so I'll be setting up an appt on Monday in the am.

It's usually very heavy the first couple of days and it eases up by the 5th or 7 th day. I cramp alot when it's heavy so this time it seemed perfectly normal. I am sexually active, but i am a lesbian and i don't like penetration. Also, i dont bother taking Birth control. (some people take birth control for plenty reasons other than getting preggers). I'm gonna make an appt. with a local clinic to see what's going on down there because this is scaring me.

Cycles change because hormones change. Is this extra period really unusual in (sorry for graphic) texture, flow, color, etc than your previous period?
Are you sexually active and using any type of hormonal birthcontrol?
Give your young age, I would suggest you see your doctor and discuss your abnormal period.

I don't have a definite answer. But even if this has only happened once, go to your doctor so you can find out if it's normal or not, and give yourself peace of mind.
