 I don't see why this should freak her out. It's not harmful or damaging. Go for it. If you are too embarrassed to talk to your own wife about this, then maybe you and her need to work on the communication? Or maybe you are not the talking types? If action is better, then just start working your way down slowly, night by night. In the end you'll be down at her feet, do your thing, and just see how she reacts.
Be warned though, it can be ticklish. Don't go straight for it, work your way down there and pay close attention to her expression and sounds to get the right pressure. Just right = great feeling. Too light = ticklish!!!! Too hard = ouch!

 No, not weird at all. I can see just how appealing a well manicured foot or pair can be a turn on. No different to being turned on by a personality the way I see it. She is your wife man, why should you not be able to tell her even better why do you have to tell her, cant you just include it in a sensual way where she probably wouldn't even think otherwise? The main problem I could imagine would be whether or not she is ticklish?
