You could find someone who knows how to dance a bit and get them to help you practice and show you how? Or you could even talk to her before the event and get her to help you- that way you can spend more time with her.
In the end though, try not to worry about your dancing. No one is going to expect you to be able to dance that well, because its a common view that most guys cant! Think of yourself as lucky. If you were a girl and couldnt dance you could probably feel worse and people seem to expect girls can just dance unlike guys.
