I've been doing the same thing at work for the past 3 years with no promotion as there are no promotions at the government institutions except if you apply and move out but unfortunately I've tried everything and nothing seems to work. I hate this job so much that when its sunday I feel like screaming my lungs out. Its so boring to work with the social grants for a long time. I just don't know what to do cause if I can resign it will take forever to find another job.

Sometimes the best way to grow your career and gain personal growth is to switch jobs every 5 or 6 years, move to different cities too. Each time you change jobs, hopefully it'll be slightly up from what you did before and if nothing else you'll pad your resume with rich experences that will help you land a job at the top. Good luck.

mpumie is verified as being by the original poster of the questionThanks sweet-thing for your respond. In our country its like this you get something when you've got connections and if you don't know anyone you will stuck in a same position for years. There's this one of my co-worker she worked for the same position for 14 years with no promotion. I get perfomance bonus every year. The problem I have I want to grow as a person. I don't expect from them cause its all about connection. You can be a hard worker but because its a government institution you don't get promotions at all.

The law if karma will probably solve your dilema and you will most likely get fired. You see when you lose your zest it shows in everything you do. In fact I suspect that's why you cant get a promotion. Whether you realize it or not you are exuding negative energy. Your boss may not recognize it as such but there is something about you that's not good. Subsequently you will continue to get passed over when raises are doled out. You're not doing yourself any favors by staying there so begin looking for another job the leave when you find one. Being unhappy literally sucks the life out of you and those around you and you know it already goes by to quickly. If you get another job I suggest you appreciate it from the beginning and approach everything with enthusiasm. It too will affect everything around you.
