writes: I had sex with my boyfriend but I am scared that I might get pregnant cause we didn't use protection. I know we were suppose to do that in the first place but it just happened unexpectedly. I'm not on an contraceptives and it was my first time. My period cycle finished about 5 days prior to this. So I am scared that I might fall pregnant!How will I know for sure besides taking a pregnancy test and waiting for my next period cycle?

reader, anonymous, writes (7 April 2008): hi i know this is probably a scary time fo you but the easist way t find out is t wait for your period if they are regular and if it ddoesnt come take a pregnancy test doctors can do this or there cheap enough to do yourself but it is totally cofidential either way

 There is no way of knowing for sure without one of these methods preferably a pregnancy test as some people continue to have periods even when pregnant, I know myself that I continued to have my period for the first four months of my pregnancy and I didn't suffer from any signs or symptoms of pregnancy if it hadn't been for the fact I had to have a blood test for something else then I don't know how long it would have been before I realised. How long ago did you have unprotected sex? You can take the morning after pill within 72 hours of having unprotected sex although you still need to take a pregnancy test as the sooner you know the sooner you can either relax and move on from this scare or deal with the outcome and work through whats next, if this turns out to just be a scare you need to see your doctor and get yourself put on some form of contraception and use condoms as no contraception is 100% safe and protection from STD's is very important no matter how well you think you know your boyfriend.
