writes: ive been lookin around this site and although there are a lot of questions on periods, there isnt one with the answers im looking for. so here goes..i started my period when i was 12, im not 16 so it was 4 years ago, nearly 5. they have been regular for at least 3 years. up until december '07 i got my perios every month on the 21st until the 25th, quite light and only lasting 4 days, but in december '07 i didnt get my period, i had lost my virginity in the november so was really worried, but wasnt pregnant, then in january i still didnt get my period. it started bothering me after almost 2 months, but thought id see how i went, i still didnt get a period until may. i thought this was very unusual and although i was glad i didnt have to worry i was worried as for why it wasnt here. in may i came on for 2 days, but it wasnt normal, it was really thin and there was no signs of it comin or going, it just CAME and then WENT. was weird. in june i kept gettin spots, like comin on for a day, then off again, or not so much a period, but just on the tissue after id been to the toilet, this happened on many occasions in june and then in july i got the same up until about the 11th/12th and then i got these mega bad stomach cramps, so bad i layed in bed with a hot water bottle for three days solid, couldnt move, was in agony but there was still no period, on the 22nd july, it was a tuesday and i was suppose to be at a party, i didnt go becase i couldnt, i bled all day, but it was (sorry tos sound gross) really thick and lumpy. i couldnt wear tampax as i usually do because it hurt too much, and it wasnt soaking the blood, i was changin every hour because it was that bad but after 24 hours is had completely gone, now theres been nothing at all. im really worried, i actually went to the doctors back in april and she said there seemed to be no problem and it was quite common for girs to skip periods. could there be anything in particular causing this? thankyou for readin my gory story lol x

I agree with a second opinion. Let the doc know everything that you just told us. Sometimes it really can be nothing--like a disease or such, just being irregular. I've known a couple girls who have had pretty much the exact same thing happen, and it wasn't too much of a big deal. Just a buildup of cells on the cervix. Seems like nothing, right? But apparently that was the cause. Just get another checkup, only the doctor can tell, that's what they get paid for.

geez. you really need to go to a better doctor i think. not that i think you have a serious health issue but there is deffinetly something going on there. skipping periods is normal but they way you are describing doesnt seem very normal to me. but dont let me scare you. i'm not a doctor. i would just get checked out again if i were you. second opinion.
