A female reader, Madalo 1 Malawi +, writes (11 December 2010):

Nothing wrong with you. The pill can make your periods irregular sometimes. One time i had sex with my bf three days after my period, then took the morning after pill. Two weeks later my period was back and i was scared sth was wrong, maybe even pregnancy but nothing was wrong in actual fact. After that early untimely period i had 70 days without my period. Therefore, the pill can disturb your regular cycle of periods because its hormonal. Just relax, there's nothing wrong with you.

Are you referring to the birth control pill or the morning after pill?? If its the morning after pill I have no idea!

But if its the birth control pill its nothing out of the norm. I just experienced two periods a few months ago because I kept missing my pills or skipping a few days(which is dangerous).

Go see a gyno just to be safe. Medical advice online is never certain.

DrPsych agony auntWhat is wrong with you is that you have a basic lack of control over your contraception. It is not a good idea to take the morning after pill more than once in a cycle. It is designed as an intervention for the odd mishap when contraception fails. You are not supposed to pop them like smarties. It is medically licensed for occasional use and is not intended as a regular method. I think you need to see your doctor to find a safe contraceptive method that suits your needs. Your periods can be disrupted by taking a high dose of hormones such as you find in emergency pills.
