writes:basically this guy i like liked me a couple of weeks ago round about august time, my best friend knew i liked him and she knew he liked me back, i only found this out after he went to a party and kissed another girl. i am really upset, i don't know what to do. he isnt dating the girl he kissed and im wondering what i should do. shall i stick around and hope he fancies me again or do i move on and find someone else. please help me, i'm so confused. and he has found out that i like him and told one of my friends that he cant stop thinking about what she said and was she sure that i liked him in that way. help. nothing is awkward and we are getting on as normal i just don't know what to do. i don't want to lose him as a friend.

reader, anonymous, writes (1 November 2009): I sort of have the same problem. There is a guy I have liked for months and I'm not sure if he likes me back. He sends me mixed signals. I am very nervous around him but i try to feel confident, somtimes it helps. Last week he went to a halloween party, he asked me why I dint go and then said 'if you had gone you could have prevented the incident' he told me he kissed another girl but he said he regretted it, I asked him why he did and he told me it was a spur of the moment thing and that he really doesn't like her that way. was he making sure that I heard it from him first? or trying to warn me that he doesnt like me?
ugh life is so confusing!
But my advise to you miss anonymous is to tell him how you feel, I know its hard if you are shy but if anything is going to happen between you or if you are going to get over him, he needs to know how you feel.

 Tell him how you feel, as you cant just stick around waiting for him to make the first move. Girls who make the 1st move are shown as confident.Since he doesnt feel awkward knowing that you like him, therefor it doesnt pose any risk in asking him out.Hope i helped x
