As an aspiring teacher myself I've done a lot of volunteer work with tutoring/teaching/counselling young people and because of that I have a huge amount of respect for all my teachers, coaches, etc. And I really want to not only be a student, but I really, really want to establish a trusting and personal friendship with my teachers as well. And I suppose that's all fine and dandy, but it's never very long before I, for some reason, start getting this strong desire to hug them. ...?! It's just weird! Can't one be friends with someone without, you know, physical contact I guess is the only way to put it, I don't know, I don't get it, it's just really weird.............. it's not that I lack attention at home, I have great supportive family etc. So... I guess what I'm saying is, has anyone else ever experienced this random intense need to like, hug people :) and why would that be, and also, why my teachers?! I mean, most people consider that weird. And it's totally not romantic at all, so it's just sort of random, and I guess it doesn't actually bother me it just confuses me. Any comments welcome, they can be totally random and weird b/c this is a totally random and weird question. :)

Since it doesn't 'actually bother' you :)
why not just ask the person: "May I hug you?" or "I'd like to exchange a hug with you" or some cool form of requesting a hug. Most folks will accept.
Just don't say "You look like you need a hug".

Nope can't say I've had that urge to hug my teacher. Now maybe I hugged my teacher in kindergarten when they helped me tie my shoe..But that was long before all these teachers having sexual relationships with their students. Really, your teachers aren't permitted to lay their hands on students. Also, if another student or teacher saw you embracing another teacher when I know you mean well, they however don't and will take it the wrong way. If a teacher witnessed this he/she would report the teacher to the administration board and the accused teacher will get fired. Or if a student witnessed you hugging a teacher, they could report it to the principal as the teacher playing favorites or the teacher is having a romantic relationship with you thus ending in their termination. The only way to have a positive relationship with your educators is to do be an outstanding student all the way up till you graduate. Get good grades, participate in class, and do extra credit. Believe me it will pay off when they are writing recommendation letters to help you get in your top college.
