Since I was young I've had problems sleeping and can have days, weeks or even months where I can feel depressed over nothing, I don't really understand why to be honest. I've been having one of those weeks this week, I've been having a few problems at school thats probably caused this, so I haven't been feeling up to doing anything, I haven't gone out or hardly made any contact with the outside world. So I've really been missing this boy but then whenever I talk to him over the phone I'd smile and feel happy but then as soon as I'd put the phone down I couldn't help but feel sick and depressed again. Then today I've been asking myself what I really feel about him, I don't want to lose him but I'm not sure if I love him if that makes sense? But does he even need me to handle when I get down like this?

maybe you should talk to your doctor about feeling depressed they can help alot.you might feel like this guy doesnt deserve having to put up with the way you are feeling but he obviously cares as he hasnt left you has he it might just be the depression making you feel like he doesnt need to put up with this and this may be one of the reasons your saying your not sure if you love him in fear of getting hurt if he does leave you because of your emotional state from time to time.

Apart from your other problems, love takes time to grow and is not always instantly felt. It sounds like your a bit infactuated with him, which is a perfectly normal response. On the other stuff, look for things in your life that could be causing the depression, talk to your parents about it. Go to your GP and see what he/she has to say.
