I found out my LDR b/f is in jail. Should I ask about or continue like I don't know?

Hello everyone, I hope yall can help me im really feeling confused right now, I've been dating this man for 8 yrs long distant... I love this man, he was my first he is 45 yrs old, im 33 yrs old...we drifted away for a year, now he started writing me letters which I'm happy to receive, I asked how hes been or what hes been up to ....hes said hes been working out of state ....but I come to find out he is locked up n hes gonna b there for 3 yrs .... My question, why hasn't he told me, n should I confront him about it ? Plz im totally confused here I dnt know what yup do ....should I just continue like if I dnt know where hes at????? Thank u in advance..

An 8 year LDR??? He didn't tell you because it really doesn't matter. He is only a virtual boyfriend and being in prison doesn't alter your relationship at all.

I have to ask, what are you getting out of this? If you have a social disorder, go see a therapist. How often do you see him? Don't you want to be with someone up close?
