Smell is a very powerful sense and we associate it with memory- they say everyone has their own natural smell, that they're not conscious of, and it's released with pheromones like DEnizen said.
Some people have heightened senses, or have one sense much more powerful than the others I.e. Men being very visual... I think it's just a natural thing, UNLESS you have a super power or something like that weird guy in Perfume haha... Probably not- just a natural heightened sense!
Take care :)

Apparently we are affected by others' pheromones, chemicals which animals produce from the skin. These can alter a range of behaviours. There is even a bottled version on the market which may or may not increase attractiveness.
You could be experiencing something like this either natural or not.
