okay i got a few problems on my mind...1st is about this girl...see i first saw her at my uncles house, my uncle was getting married and we were having a miniparty. she was there bcoz she was the brides sister...at that point i didnt feel anything for her...then in april was the registry and reception party... i didnt see much of her that da until about 10pm...then she absolutely blew my socks off with her looks. we were all dancing and the first question is: if i wanted to go reli far in a relationship with her and gt married, would it be legal coz she is now sorta related but sorta not. to be exact she is my dads, mums, sisters, sons, wifes sister.

ok second question is this. We are both indian lol and i would preffer it if an indian answer this question coz theyll know more about the sittuation.

ok so...by then there was the wedding and by that time i had completely fallen in love with her. i didnt know her name or anything so i decided to find her. it took me 4 months to find her but i did in the end...i found her 2 days ago. we started talkin and she looks about my age - 14 but then i asked her...she is nearly 16! my last question is: should i give up? i reli reli wanna be with her but if its illegal or w/e then ill give up. i reli reli dont wanna give up tho, so how do u win a 16 yr olds heart by not making her feel uncomfortable that i am kinda related and younger than her?

A male reader, Uncle Trev United Kingdom +, writes (2 August 2007):

Although I am not indian I need to asure you that you are not breaking any law regarding incest by getting close to someone related to you in this way.

I live in a quiet westcountry village and the vast majority of people who marry down here are related distantly such as this. If this kind of relationship was not allowed then less than a quarter of the marriages in Devon and Cornwall would be legal.

The only point of legality would be you being below the age of consent but I cannot think of any reason legally why you could not be together. As for your culture or religion that may be another issue that you will have to find out for yourself.

I know you stipulated an Indian to answer but I noticed in six hours you have not had an answer and a non indian answer surely is better than no answer at all.
