Im very uncomfortable round boys because of it and don't act confidently- sometimes I just feel like crying and others I try toe but end up feeling I'm intimidating everyone. As a side toe, I feel humongous pressure to be thinner because I really want to model. I have a friend who could be my twin, but she's so thin it's unreal. I don't think I have the figure and all I do is thi about how I should be eating less, but I never do! If I ate like a normally son, I'd be skinny but I love food.Just in general, does anyone have any advice they can give me on any of my issues? Thank you Reply to this Question Share |

To start: your weight is perfectly acceptable and healthy both for your height and age. You are likely even a bit on the lower side of average. If you think you need to lose weight, I urge you to speak with your physician before embarking on any weight loss plan. Your doctor can advise you as to whether weight loss is something that is okay, or whether it could impact your health long-term.
When I was a teen I wanted to be a model. There were times when I was unnaturally thin. There were even times when I could have modeled...but my issue was my lacking self-confidence. When I look at my clothes from high school, I wonder how no one noticed I had an eating disorder.
Losing weight without working on your self-confidence won't change anything. You will see the same person in the mirror even when the scale says you weigh less. Considering weight loss when you are a healthy weight and lack self-esteem can only lead to a struggle with body image and food consumption that often lasts a lifetime.
I urge you to work on your self esteem. What are your good qualities? If you absolutely feel like you need to be a model, why not work on becomming a fitness model? They model exercise equipment, sporting goods, yoga pants, and even give testimonials on tv and perform for workout videos. Instead of starving yourself, you work on toning muscle and sculpting your body. You would be fit, healthy, you don't restrict calories like other female models, you would be attractive to men (unlike the unnaturally skinny types), and most of all you would be able to feel better about yourself. :-)

You aren't at all, u might be a little tall though , I watch america's next top model a lot and they don't seem to like it when the girl is five foot ten or over because they look ridiculous in heels. Kate moss wasn't that tall, but I think naomi campbell was so I'm sure it won't be an issue. Anyways ur general look and quality of skin is more important than ur weight at this stage. You should book an appointment with an agent if ur serious about it and within ten minutes they will tell u if they want u or not.

You do not weigh too much. I'm 5'9" and at your age weighed 136 pounds; much more than the other girls at school, but perfect for my height. Now that I'm older and look at photos of myself from then, I looked too thin. I look much better with another 10 pounds or so.

My role models are people like Elle McPherson, cause shes a business woman too, and then other people like athletes, mo farrah, Jessica Ennius, Phillips Iowa etc.
I'm going to try and lose a bit of weight, get down to 60.
Thanks for your comment :)

Get help. You are not huge. And stuff like this irritates me. It sounds like another 'look at me I am so skinny but I am pretty, look at me and give me attention!!' post, and it irks me.
You know for a fact you are not overweight. Here is the truth about models, agencies want HEALTHY models. You cannot be healthy if you continue to try to be thinner. I was in hospital once with some anorexic girls. One of them ran away, and she was SO malnourished and underweight that running that half a mile actually killed her. Other girls had to get on a chair lift to get up stairs because they did not have the calories to waste doing it themselves. They were banned from exsercise completely they were THAT ill. You want to do that to yourself? Go ahead, see how fun it is when you are FORCED into eating food that makes you feel sick.
Basically, sort yourself out.

5ft11 and 64kg..WAKE UP!
Your issue is is that you most likely have body dismorpic disorder. You need a reality check. Stop comparing yourself to other people. "She's so thin its unreal" - Does that actually sound good to you? Sounds to me like she's unhealthily thin.
Why do you want to be a model? Who are your role models? Skinny does not make you more beautiful or better than anyone else. Learn to be comfortable in your own skin. You must think your attractive if you want to be a model..?!

Hello,
Find out what your BMI should be for your height. This will be an indication if you are over weight. Girls of 5.11 would have a higher BMI weight than a girl of 5.3. That is natural as well as longer legs and possibly larger shoe sizes. Also, check websites to see what weight certain models are as well as their heights. Then look at them and see how they compare.
