writes: Recently,i went to this party...a lad was there who i have liked for a very long time.He is 17 and im 14.A few things happend between us on this night and and although it was nothing serious i feel guilty as he is one of my best friends and has a girlfriend.He said he feels awful because he thinks i am upset about it when i am not entirely bothered,I jus don't kno' what to think as he has a gf and i dont want to loose him as he is a very close friend aswell.Any idea's ?

reader, anonymous, writes (11 June 2008): while i'm not a dating guru, i can tell you that everything will be alright based on one simple fact: you are 14 years old.
you will change as a person dramatically by the time you are 17 or 18. from my own personal experience, all i know is that true feelings don't really develop until you grow as a person first. not to discredit your current emotions, but, don't worry about it. he is most likely fine, and if you still suspect anything, just ask him in private and leave it at that.

if you felt awful about it then it tells you that you are a very good person considering the fact he has a girlfriend now because you fell awful you must ask your self this do you want to be with him as a friend or more then a friend if you just want to be friends tel him that if you dont then tell him you want to be more then just friends with and if he wants that too him that you will not do anything with him BUT be his friend until be brakes up with his GF giving her respect enough not to be stealing her boyfriend or making him cheat on her
