I'd say (according to my in-depth analysis) that the chances of him liking me too are 50/50.. it's hard to tell when I never talk to him! How can I try to move things along without looking like an idiot? I'm shy and inexperienced and never ever admit my feelings so I don;t really know the best way to go about it!

well, There are two ways to go about this, either you approach him directly, or you attract him. If you won't mind, you can make the first move but try to build your confidence.
We guys like confident girls. You can start by maybe appreciating something about him or something he did well. If you can't then you can watch this video here http://bit.ly/5ih89 it is quite helpful. it shows you how to attract any guy of your choice.
