When you say you're getting fat, does that mean your body is expanding, or just that the number on the scale is increasing?
Remember, the number doesn't matter, how it looks matters. Muscle is denser than fat, meaning it weighs more while taking up the same amount of space. If you're excercising properly, you may be replacing the fat with some muscle. So long as you don't overdo it, this is a good thing.
If you're actually putting on fat and bulk, change your workout plan to include more running and cardio, as well as less weightlifting. Move most of your calorie intake to the early morning and lunch, and away from dinner and evening. And be sure you're getting a full daily dose of vitamins and minerals to prevent your body from hoarding fat.

It's possible you're not eating enough and your body is hoarding calories. This happens with starvation. Most likely though he's just blessed with a naturally higher metabolism. People like that irritate me because I'm the opposite. I just look at food and get fatter...
