writes:I am a 17 year old male, and i was in a great relationship with the one girl i ever loved and then she broke up with me and i felt so alone. then last night i had a dream about a guy that one of my best girlfriends was dating who i dont know much about and we were holding hands and sleeping in the same bed, what should i do? what does it mean? i am confused and i wouldnt think of being gay because this is the first time i ever felt like this.

dreams can be very hard to interprate, holding hands and sleeping in the same bed as another man that is known to yopu but not well may just mean that your mind is telling you that deep down you want to get to know him as a friend i really don't think that it means you are gay i have read about 15 books on dream interpratation and the only dream that gives you a definate connection to posibly being gay is if you dream of having sex with another man so don't worry just try and start to get to know this guy and see.

It is common for straight men to occassionally fantasize or dream about other men. It doesn't make you gay, or even bisexual. It could mean you are bi-curious. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Gay/Straight is not a Black/White issue. There are men who are heterosexul and never ever ever think about the same sex (although I suspect many of them are lying) Then there are gay men who never ever ever think about the opposite sex. But there is a full spectrum in between. There are men who fantasize about men, but would never do it. There are men who fantasize, try it, and don't like it. There are men who try it, and don't mind it but prefer women. You are only 17. Just enjoy life. Study hard, work hard, and don't worry too much one way or the other about sexual orientation.

hdlover1025 is verified as being by the original poster of the questionwell in my dream i was at our beach house, and we were in a black/white bed. and there was like a light blue wall, but other then that it had normal colors, as if it were real life.

If you will reply with your dream in more detail I may be able to analyse your dream using the pyscology of Dr. Carl G Jung's analysis of the unconscious mind. It may show a building jealousy of a masculine figure in your mind. I could not be sure until more detail is added. We cant control dreams, so just think of it as nothing.
Im not in a position to say if your straight or not, only you can know. But since you said you loved a girl you proberly might be straight.
