However, there are occasions where I question why he says he loves and cares for me as much as he expresses. He mentions I have many qualities which he admires and appreciates but I always doubt his comments. I don't know if the fact that my Mum has always been highly critical of me is a factor. I believe I am old enough to get over this and if I continue this thought my relationship will be badly affected. Please help. Reply to this Question Share |

Hi,
How do you feel about yourself? Do you think that you are worthy of being loved and appreciated? There are not many men who feel comfortable in sharing their feelings with their significant others. Not many men at all. And you have one who freely and wholeheartedly appreciates you.
Your mom was critical of you...WAS. You are a grown woman now and have found someone who loves and adores JUST THE WAY YOU ARE. And you love yourself just the way you are....what's the issue.
Forget the criticisms of your mother, your life now has proven that she was wrong about you...accept that she was wrong and embrace the wonderful person that you are and the wonderful person you have in your life.
You are truly blessed in your relationship. Don't mess it up because of someone else's opinion of you. The person you are with loves you JUST THE WAY YOU ARE.
