A male United Kingdom age 36-40, anonymous writes:

Hi

About a year ago I first set my eyes on this fantastic girl. I gradually became friends with her (through other friends) and I started to develop feelings for her.

The problem was her and my friend were in that stage where they were about to start a relationship and eventually they did. This lasted about a month and then they split up.

For about 8 months now, we have been in daily contact and we really get on well. After they split up I had a word with her friend who told me that she liked me too. I decided to tell this girl and she said no because she didnt want to hurt her previous bf and she didnt want to mess us up as friends.

I tried to accept this and I started seeing a new girl and that lasted a couple of months. Even so I was still in pretty much daily contact with girl. When me and my gf split up, this other girl and I talked even more - just like we used to.

The other day I plucked up the courage to tell her i like her and to my amazement she said she likes me too.

The problem is I dont know where to go from here. I dont want to rush things and mess it up - because I have waited so long for this girl, she really is fantastic and just the kind of girl I would love to be with.
