If he's truly your best friend he'll understand.You can't date him just beacuse you want to be nice and loyal.You'll hurt him more.Again if you don't go out with the other guy you'll always feel awkward in his presence.Tell the other guy 1st how you feel about him then tell your best friend about it all.Don't worry about it too much,he'll get over it.

Hello.
You really need to do what you feel is right. At the end of the day if you choose not to go out with the boy who likes you and who you like, then you are not doing what you want. You should explain to your freind that you see him only as a freind, he will get hurt, but if he truely likes you, he would want you to be happy.
