Your mother has brought you up and now she is starting all over again. Her choice not yours am afraid. I don't see why a baby would not be a good thing. If your mum is happy then should you not be happy for her? You will be moving out soon and starting your own life, do you think it is not a bit selfish to expect your mum to put her life on hold forever because you don't want to share her?

It's ironic that you wouldn't be so selfish, if you'd already easy had another sibling.
You don't have to stay much longer, but it would be wise to learn what it's like to not be the centre of attention; I know it's tough, but it's a basic life skill.

Well I am happy for you...Why?
If you are 16-17 as you say...think of all the advise you have to give to your younger brother or sister. A boy...How to treat a woman. A girl...what kind of boys to stay away from.
Think how it would be if you had a older sibling that loved you, and give you good advise on how to deal with people.

Sorry OP,
The choice is NOT yours, but your mom's. You have had her for 16-17 years all to yourself... isn't it about time you learn to share?
A sibling isn't a competitor, but an ally... if you play your cards right.
No need for whining. If it makes your mom happy, BE happy with her and for her.

Boohoo! You are now on the verge of leaving home, or should be. This extra child isn't going to make much difference to your life unless you are a mummy's girl. In which case get over yourself and give your young sibling something to look up to; and someone to run to when parents suck.
