Me and a male friend of mine were walking to class ,(we go to college together) and a guy that wants to take me on a date was calling my cell phone. I didnt answer, Im not interested in this guy, so my friend said he was gonna call him back and say I was his girlfriend. He did just that..he called him back and said, did some one call my girls phone the guy told him he was looking for me and my friend said well thats my girlfriend, but I'll have her call you back. My friend told me to call him back and tell the guy I just got out of the shower and that my boyfriend told me you called. Why would my friend do this?

chigirl agony auntHe did it because he is your friend and that telling this guy you have a boyfriend will keep him away from you. It gives you an excuse. He was doing you a favour.

Why didn't you just ask him if you didn't understand why he did it?

A reader, anonymous, writes (5 October 2010):

Hi! well there can only be three possible answers to your question -

1 being - maybe because hes your friend? just simply trying to help you out and gave you a scenario to ensure that the guy didnt become a nuisance?

2 - maybe your friend siezed the opportunity to get the guy off your case (and let you have an insight at the same time) because he himself likes you

and 3? maybe , just maybe , for you to even question his actions ....you're actually hoping the reason is number 2? ;0)

I think this is pretty easily solved , number 3 you can answer right away yourself . number 1 and 2? well your friends right? simply ask ....right out! Thank him for the action and ask why he did it ...watch and note his response ...good luck and hope it resolves soon x

A male reader, Cerberus_Raphael Sweden +, writes (5 October 2010):

Cerberus_Raphael agony auntMaybe he just thought of a way to tell that man to back off since you aren't interested in him. Maybe your friend is interested in you. But I think you already know why he might have done that in the first place. You have your suspicions don't you? You know him better than I do, I can only throw educated guesses at you and my guess is that perhaps he did that to give you a hint of his hidden emotions. But that is just a guess and I cannot be sure.

I hope that helps.
