I don't understand why he acts this way if he does not want to be with me, or does he?

Hi, I have this guy friend who I am confused about. When I tell him what I'm looking for in a man, he responds with "well I have everything you need", he will ask questions about my family such as...do they know about him...But he never has that talk with me about being together exclusively.

When I began dating someone else he called nonstop all day asking to see me, and even told me that I could not ever see him until I stopped seeing the other guy. We are not in a relationship, but are friends with benefits, I don't understand why he acts this way if he does not want to be with me or does he?
