At your age, you probably haven't loved at all. Some say that you can feel as though you will fall in love as time goes on but your maturity level at the time means your body does not have the potential to fall in love properly yet. I know there are going to be 16 year olds saying "that's not true, I'm in love right now" and yet a few years later they will look back and laugh. I know I did.
You are probably just maturing and realising that you can be your own person as well as liking another boy. It doesn't mean you liked your ex more, it just means you're more mature than you used to be and can be your own person as well as in a relationship. It's not healthy to think about someone ALL the time. You need balance.
