He is a really really good guy, I've know him for years, but he is not interested in me! He said he wasn't interested in anyone and he has no thoughts of getting into a relationship.  He has made his position very clear and the fact that he told you indicates that he clearly does not want you to take it further, and if you do and you get rejected then that will make the existing friendship you have very difficult to maintain.
