I have been talking to this guy since last June (2011) . And since then, we've been through so much. I really really like him. But for some reason, I don't feel like I should be talking to him. His supposedly "ex girlfriend" has called my phone about 3 different times basically trying to chase me away. No threats or nothing but the typical "I'm his girl" type of stuff. He has told me over and over again that she really is just his ex girl and that he doesn't even see her. I just don't know what to believe. And because of his ex still sort of being in the picture, I've been going back and forth with myself whether or not to still talk to him. But I hate going just one day not speaking to him. I think about him all the time and I miss him as soon as I leave him. His feelings for me SEEM real, but I just don't know. I feel like I'm falling for him and he already told me he's falling for me but he's scared, because he's been hurt before. And so have I. I can't ignore my feelings but I don't know if I could trust that his ex is REALLY his ex. Should I take a chance and believe him, or is it better to just let him go and let her have him.?

@in.love.with.him Thank you. Proof would be great but I honestly don't know how I would get that proof. You have a great point though, you may think you know somebody and then they show their true colors. Since I can't find proof, maybe I need to just try and stop drawing my own conclusions?

@oldbag Well we have been just talking for this whole time. But I was confused at one point in April he had told me "No more games, you're my shorty and thats that" So I took that as "You are my girlfriend". But to get to the story of how his ex girlfriend got my number, apparently me being his "shorty" didn't make us official. He had gotten shot (not seriously injured, only in his foot). But when he sent me the text stating he was shot, I was upstate at school, while he was home in the city, so I was worried about him. And I didnt know anybody else that knew him at the time, I hadnt even met his mom yet. So I went through his Twitter and found his ex girlfriend, and I hit her up to see if she knew whether or not he was ok. I had gave her my number so she could call me and she called me but basically on some "IM his girlfriend, and I just left the hospital from being with him." But long story short, we had an argument over who his girlfriend was. He told me she is really his ex but she was just claiming she's his girlfriend because I had said I was. But basically, she has called my phone two other times since the argument just to mess with me and hes still claiming theres nothing between them. So WHY would she still be calling me to chase me away?? I just don't get it.!

oldbag agony auntHi

How did she get your number? Sounds like she is just trying to get him back and knows he likes you.

however I dont know if you are just talking to him or dating, its not clear what the relationship you have is ?

Think he likes you anyway or why would he waste time on you, its been a year.

In.love.with.him agony auntFind proof to this catch him in the act! I understand trust is a being thing in a relationship but you have only known this man for a year even when you've known someone your whole life at times you will feel like you don't know them. But get proof to put your mind at ease. Good luck hun!
