Knowing that you have only been going out for 2 months I wouldn't think about backing off just yet.
If you both see each other quite often and he does sometimes ringsyou up then it seems quite good. Is he shy at all?
Some people show their feelings differently even though it's not what your expecting.
If you really like him and think that he's genuine then I'd give him a chance still. x
