I don't know how to start!

Question - (14 March 2011) 1 Answers - (Newest, 14 March 2011)
A male Canada age 26-29, *emniscent writes:

Just to clear things up, I am fifteen, in grade 10 and she is in grade 11. We are in a very small high school (started last year, but since it's French - not emersion, completely - it has already exceeded the maximum occupancy of the building at 140 people), so here goes.

So I love this girl! Soooo much, and I can't stop thinking about her. We did dance, (albeit in a group) and I am fairly confident that she likes me too. I have a problem though; I have never dated. Lame? I know. I have never kissed, dated, or had any type of romantic relationship. While I am good at solving problems when I am already in a relationship (as romance is an extremely advanced version of friendship), I don't have any form of experience in starting a romantic relationship. I don't know how to start things up (besides talking to her; I'm already doing that), so besides the talking, can anyone give me suggestions to move things forward? Talking can only get you so far.

Thank you.

A reader, Dr. Mephisto United Kingdom +, writes (14 March 2011):

Dr. Mephisto agony auntFirst off, you're only 15, in this modern world your focus should be on your education not on creating a relationship that will most probably only last four fifths of a second. Time is a precious commodity that mustn't be squandered. What you believe to be 'love' is in fact prepubescent raging hormones, or in laymans terms 'lust'. You are still extremely young and any lose of time in terms of education can be seriously injurious to your future career prospects. After all if you are uneducated and broke what self-respecting woman is going to want anything to do with you when you're older?
