I read today that you can get pregnant this way, so i called a sexual health hotline and talked to them - they said it's possible but the chances are very low, and to get emergency contraception just to put my mind at rest. So I did, within 18 hours, with no problems. But now I'm still terrified that I could be pregnant and it's 2 weeks til my period is due! What can I do to stop worrying?PS Yes I know it was a stupid thing to do, yes I know to be A LOT more careful in future and no, I won't be doing anything like that again for a loooooong time! xx

Your chances of getting pregnant is like striking the Lotto, 1 in 25 millions. Just relax and I am sure you are not that lucky to strike the first prize.
No contraceptive methods are 100% foolproof. Plan B is only 95 % effective if taken within 24 hours.
Don't kill yourself by over worrying. You have not reach the bridge yet. You can decide again when you reach it.

It's a low chance that you are, but I understand the anxiety.
But just to clarify, Plan B ONLY works if you haven't ovulated yet. It prevents ovulation. If you have, then you're stuck. I was lucky.

First off, the odds of getting pregnant that way are so low that it's pretty much not worth worrying about. Second, plan B is very effective when taken within 24 hours of the possible pregnancy event. Since you've taken plan B you have absolutely nothing to worry about. Plan B works even with people who have totally unprotected sex and get a lot more exposure to sperm. Next time just have him wash his hands with soap and water, that will get rid of any sperm.

Try to relax and calm down because stress might cause your period to delay and and then you'll worry even more. Every thing will be fine don't worry. A lot of us make silly mistakes so don't blame yourself for anything.

But if you really want to be sure before your period is due (and I can totally empathise with that, it's horrible when you just can't think of anything else), then just take a pregnancy test! It might be a bit scary but will be worth it.
Best Wishes.

If no sperm entered into your body that way chances of you being pregnant are slim. If there was sperm on your bf's hands when he fingured you then technically yea it could be possible but the amount of sperm on his hands is probably minute and would probably have a hard time passing your body's natural barriers (mucus, slightly acidic atmosphere...) Best thing to do is to try to relax, wait and see whether or not your period comes. Take it from there...Good luck. Make smarter deciosions next time if you are not willing to deal with the consequences of bad decisions.

IT is technically possible to get pregnant in many different ways but highly unlikely in most of them.
Considering the fact that you realized the mistake at the time and acted fast enough to get the pill, you should have nothing to worry about - in fact, the more you worry, the more chance you have of becoming stressed and the more stressed you become might result in you having a missed period or a late period even if you're not pregnant.
The best thing to do here is to feel secure in the knowledge that you have taken all steps that you can and that you only have a 2 week wait for your period. You should try not to worry about it at all and try not to beat yourself up over it.
Take it as a lesson learned and in two weeks, you'll see that you'll be O.K.
