And this shallow sleep lasts less than 4 hours, I haven’t been able to get more than 4 hours or let’s give it a stretch 4:30 minutes of sleep at once, no matter when I go to sleep, I must awake four hours later, and the sleep is crappy, unless I deprived myself sleep for a very long time, that’s when I can sleep without feeling awakeHowever I don’t feel body fatigue like someone that hasn’t slept well or get a good enough sleep would feel, just that my face looks extremely tired with tired eyes and dark circles below my eyes every day, but my body feels refreshed and don’t feel like I need to take a nap in the afternoon I feel like I can stay awake for weeks if I chose to. Because my body rarely feels tired and have the need to sleepI have tried various medications, supplements and Chinese traditional drugs, even melatonin but nothing seems to get me into deep sleep, I bought continuous positive airway machine (CPAP) thinking maybe I have apnea, even though I look athletic and healthy and not obesed as sleep apnea patient is normally believed to be, but no it didn’t helpNow I also noticed I have been waking up almost 20 times in a night, like every 20 minutes or so, I feel maybe my brain has lost the ability of regulating sleep properly I can’t afford sleep study now, I’m at my wits end, any contributions or advice will be highly appreciated

You have dark circles around your eyes for a reason, you may also have some underlying health condition or nervous disorder that is waking you every 20 minuets. You have gone past the self medicating stage (I think) and counting sheep, I think it's a medical condition that needs checking out professionally.

You dont mention it, so I have to ask: have you gone to see a doctor about this? And I dont mean a traditional doctor, I mean a doctor who has studied medicine at the university.
You sound like you have insomnia, which can be caused by stress. But you need to see your doctor about this instead of buying various medicine and equipment. You probably dont need a sleep study, more likely a doctor or a therapist will be able to help you. Problems with sleep are often connected with mental health. If you have many worries and concerns in life, they can cause insomnia.

Or you could ask your doctor for something to help you sleep.
You don't need a sleep study.
With a little help you will get a settled night of good sleep so just ask an online doctor or see a doctor face to face.
