I am about 15 1/ 2weeks pregnant (or so they say, every doc has given me a different date and when they told me how far along I was it was impossible)I was with someone from April 6th- to maybe April 14th or 15th give or take. I slept with another man on the 26th of April. The doctors said they automatically put you ahead 2 weeks. So..is the time frame to close to tell or is it obvious its man number 1-2? I have an appointment on the 8th I will voice my concerns but yea. Opinions please!! :) Thank you all!!!! Reply to this Question Share |

They do calculate by the baby's size, but size relevation is quite precise and accurate only when based on ultrasonography taken between 8th and 13th weeks.

Due date is calculated 40 weeks after the first day of your last period, that's why they "add " two weeks . Now, if it is the scan (ecography ) which says you are 15 and a half weeks today ,
this should mean that you have conceived 13 and half weeks ago, April 18th or 19th. Which is not impossible, since sperm can survive up to 5 ,maybe 7 days, inside your body - so if you had an encounter on April 14th or 15th...
That , if you had a pregnancy scan, which is fairly (even if not absolutely ) accurate in assessing the baby 's development.
If instead the 15 and a half weeks ONLY come out from standard tabletime calculations ( counting from the first day of your last period ) this is less reliable, because if you had irregular periods, you can have started your last period on ,say, April 4th, and ovulated not on the 18th as per textbook, but even many days later, on April 25th or 26th.
This is just for the sake of theory , - the best is, as you are planning to do, to voice your concerns to your ob/gyn.

It might also help if you knew the average length of your cycles for the last six months before you got pregnant. Your fertile period is 14 days before the expected onset of your next period. So this could be different days depending on the length of your cycles, normal being anywhere between 21 and 35 days.
Also, the most reliable medical estimates are usually the earliest.
I hope this helps. Best of luck to you and your baby!
