You have a COLD! It is not the end of the planet! You just have to wait it out. I think you are being way over dramitic here.

It's only be a few days -- how can that be "affecting your life"?? If you'd lost a limb, I could understand you having a meltdown, but turning into Woody Allen over having a cold??
What I suggest, instead of trying to figure out how to solve this enormous "dilemna", is to work on your coping mechanisms a little because god help you if you have a child one day -- 9 months of pregnancy - feeling nauseous & hurling everywhere for the first 3 months, feeling like someone has tied a lump of cement to you for the remainder of it, plus feeling like someone's replaced your bladder with a squeeze-toy, only to end up with the final instalment of feeling like you're being chain-sawed in half would send you over the edge!!

Sometimes this happens when you have a cold, but as soon as the cold goes away you will regain your sense of taste and smell. However, on the other hand if your smell and taste does not return you may have what I have which is Anosmia loss of taste and smell due to chronic sinusitus. There is a yahoo anosmia group who will be able to give you more information. I have been suffering from anosmia for 3 years. Good Luck
