stina agony auntHi Linz,

lol - Sorry, I'm not laughing at you, I think the term "butt bone" is funny.

Okay, I would definitly talk to your doctor about the medication not working, as mentioned before. You shouldn't have to go in for an appointment, it should be able to be done right over the phone.

Also, I would consider putting a hot water bottle on your tail bone because warm temperatures stimulate blood flow, and that could make the sore area feel better.

You also might need to get a "doughnut pillow." This way you won't put as much pressure on your tail bone when you sit down. Doing this would be bad, obviously because of the pain, but because the nerves in this area can affect the kidneys, bladder, uterus, and basically the entire pelvic floor. So make sure to take it easy so nothing else gets affected from you moving around too much, etc.

If the pain is really, really bad, perhaps you might want to ask your doctor about corticosteroid shots which would most likely give you more relief than pills.

Have you had x-rays done? Sometimes in severe cases, people are referred to orthopedic surgeons to have the part of the tailbone that is broken removed. This will stop the pain in its tracks (well, after you heal from the surgery). But like I said this is only if you have a really, really bad break (!!!).

Hope this helps! :)

Talk to your doctor about the pain killers not working. You might have to up your meds to a stronger dose...or change it to a different one altogether.

One of my friends was in the same predicament as you...the pain killers weren't working...so they tried weed. Found that it worked good...or should I say much better! Please forgive me for puting that here because I don't know what you stand on drugs is. Anyway I hope you heal fast and get back on your feet in no time at all!

Abacadaba agony auntlol, one time i didnt break mine but really badly hurt it, all i did was make sure i had a soft pillow to sit on, and tryed to do the least amount of movement as possible, and had showers rather than baths. Not sure how long it will take it to heal after being broken, but just take it easy, and always sit on something soft, and maybe speak to your doctor about the pain killers.

hope your bums up and working again soon :P not trying to sound dirty :)
