i really dont know what is wrong with me, my under arms keep sweating that i cant wear sleeved tops anymore because it leaves big wet marks, i bath 2 times a day, i have always taken care of myself. when i sweat it dont usually smell or anything, but it has done occasionally. its ruining my life because i cant wear some of my nice tops because people will notice the sweat patches. i have tried so many anti- sprays but usually they work for a few days but then it comes back again. do you have any home remedies to stop this? if so can you please name them so i can try it. i dont really want to go to the doctors as im a shy girl and would feel ashamed to go. give me some ideas on how to stop this x

Don't worry, it happens to me too at times, especially during that time of month, so it could be your hormones too. Make sure you're drinking enough liquids- plenty of water. (So you're not dehydrated- this could cause sweating.) Deodorants like Secret make a clinical strength antiperspirant and I also use a product called "Certain-Dri" which helps as well. They also have products available called "underarm shields" which you could try as well. They even make clothes with these shields already in them. Also look at the types of fabric your clothes are made out of- cotton absorbs moisture. High tech polyester fabric used in gym clothes is made to pull sweat away from the body and it cools you off.

If all else fails, make an appointment to see your doctor, since you shouldn't have to suffer.

SirenaBlusera agony auntThe other aunts are correct.

There is a condition called "hyperhidrosis," and the primary symptom is sweating profusely. It's not life-threatening, just annoying, but the good news is that there's something than can do about it. You need to see a doctor about this, because it doesn't sound like fun. There are treatments, or, if that fails, there is surgery available for this problem.

I hope this helps...

You'll need to ask for an antiperspirant with aluminium chloride. It's basically a little bit stronger than your ordinary antiperspirant. I reckon it'll probably cost about the same as a good antiperspirant, not too expensive at least.

I've done some research about it now. So hopefully this will be more of a help. X

A reader, anonymous, writes (17 November 2009):

I'm not a medical genius but I've heard that about 1/100 people are affected by this condition which means they sweat a lot more than average. You might not be affected, you'd have to see a doctor. But it doesn't mean there's anything wrong with you anyway, you just sweat a lot.

There are particular deodorants available which contains aluminium, which are apparently good if you have problems with sweating. You can get it over the counter at a chemist. You might have tried it already but this is what I'd advise.

Hope I helped. X
