Feel free to tell me a little more if you thnk it wud help. How about geting a part time job? Going to youth club? Meeting friends for coffee or to go for a walk? I grew up in a very rural area so being outdoors was second nature. But i understand that if you live in a city then that may not be possible. Have you thought about maybe learning something new like an instrument so u have something to turn to other than the lap top. Or finding a penpal? Start a fitness regime (a sensible 1) Maybe take up cooking or cycling or drawing, creative writing? Maybe you could do charity work, join a choir.........the list could just keep going but as i dont know ur interests im clutching at straws.

Be active, just going on long walks around your neighborhood. It's great exercise and I love noticing things I'm oblivious to when I just drive by. What about photography? Reading? Joining a book club is a good way to learn and meet new people. Or a softball or kickball league (or whatever sport is available where you are). Volunteering at a homeless shelter? Take a class to learn a new language? There's endless possibilities...just get out there and discover new things, and you're right, leave the laptop alone! Good luck!

Does your community have a recreation center where you can get involved in any kind of sport or hobby? You could also find somewhere to do some volunteer work. It's free and very rewarding, and it looks good on college applications.

Learn to wean yourself off these things to some extent.
As for activities, try different sports as in Badminton (or anything you may enjoy) Just go and join in any club until you find a place you fit in. Where or what doesn't matter. Badminton cost about £3 to £5 on a social night most sports are that.
There are also rambling clubs...lots of stuff really.
Have a go.
I am 50, and recently took up a sport 3 years ago, and this year became English champion in my age group, so it shows what a 17 year old could do if she went for it??
