I have spoken to the father (my mechanic)several times and he seems to mention his son to me quite a bit. I have an appointment to get some work done to my car next week and either my mechanic or his son comes to pick the car up from my house then takes it in for work the next morning. I don't want to seem overbearing because I know men love the thrill of the chase, so How do I get this guy (the son)to notice me or to make him know that I am interested without being to bold? Should I drop a hint to the father (as creepy as it would be)? Thank you.

Going through his dad is almost primieval in this day and age - I say call the auto-shop and ask for the son by name, introduce yourself and ask him if he wants to meet after work. You do have the number at the shop, right? This'll be easier than most pick-ups!
