He had a girl living with him but it was my understanding they were separated. We went out to dinner and a show last weekend. He came on really strong...I was unsure but went with it anyway. He wanted to meet for coffee today and told me that he was going on a business trip and that he would be taking his girlfriend with him and that he did not want to lead me on. He seemed upset and seemed to want to end the coffee date quickly. I was civil and pleasant as is my way but am hurt and confused. My guess is that I was no more than an interlude but I am blindsided and hurt at how quickly this came on. Any thoughts on why he acted this way?? Reply to this Question Share |

He wouldn't have been upset like that if you were nothing but a piece of booty. However, he *is* being honest with you and ending it with you (before it even starts) because he wants to do the right thing.
He sounds like a nice guy -- obviously he plans to do the right thing by his girlfriend. Be gracious and back off; maybe one day you'll have another chance.
