 You are still in the grieving process over loosing your first love. Please give yourself more time to get your feeling in check.
If you and the new guy are in the talking stage he might not be considering it more at this time. Don't let your heart move too fast. Try backing off a bit and being his friend.
If he is talking to someone else, maybe he isn't ready for a one on one relationship just yet. Slow down and take time in getting to know him. Let him get to know you. The real decision here is his anyway.
