If you don't want them all fussing though, maybe just tell immediate family and ask them to keep it quiet. Maybe tell a little white one and say a friend put your picture forward and that you thought you may as well go seeing as they've asked for you, and just for the experience as well.
They'll probably want to check out the details of it anyway, to rest their minds that it's not dodgy or anything.
But yeah, good luck for the finals, and well done! :-)

You entered the competition feeling negative about yourself, you got into the finals & your still feeling negative? Are you scared what you're family will think? Just say to your parents/sisters/aunties (whoever) that you entered as a little bit of fun & you're really suprised that you're in the finals! Don't put yourself down, you must be really attractive to have been put in the finals anyway! Good luck! :) x
