The trouble is that I actually forget to eat and not just for a day, sometimes I don't even start to think about food until a week or longer has passed and I start to feel the effects of it. I've had to write sticky notes to myself a few times actually reminding myself to eat but even then it only ends up being a small meal once a day, once a week. I'm not doing this on purpose, is there something wrong with me? This has been happening a lot more often then it used to and is lasting longer as well. Reply to this Question Share |

On Sunday, plan what you will have for lunch, breakfast and dinner every day for the whole week... Set your watch for breakfast and make sure you stick to your plan, then reset your watch for lunch, then dinner.. If you can prepare the food in advance...
Every night, write in your diary everything you have eaten for the day. If you haven't stuck to your menu plan or know your definitely not eating enough, then take the plan and the diary to your doctor and get them to check that your getting enough vitamins and nutrients to survive and thrive. Stress can make us not feel like eating. You could be suffering from this, anorexia or depression....
You should be aiming for 5 lots of fruit and vegetables and day, and eating around 1500 calories, use this as a good guideline and check on the Internet on things that are easy to eat. If your not getting enough food then try drinking things like smoothies or diet replacement drinks to keep up your strength....

I definately think you should see a doctor, this will be doing your body some serious harm and it is best to get it sorted now than leave it any longer.
When your body is not getting the nutrition and energy it needs, it will start to eat away at muscle and eventually your organs which can lead to very serious things like heart failure. Basically you must eat!
If you are struggling to remember to eat then something in your body is out of sync, naturally your body should feel hungry and then remind you to eat i.e. your tummy would rumble! If this is not happening then your doctor will be able to help you.
If you hate the idea of seeing a doctor then try keeping a food diary, at the end of the day write down everything you have/havent eatedn. That way you can see where you are going wrong. Also, set reminders for yourself on your mobile phone so there is something to tell you to get some food! If you get into a routine where you know what time of day you have each meal then it will be easier for you to remember. Fit meals in around your schedule; have breakfast before you go out in the morning, make some lunch to take with you during the day and then have dinner when you get back. I know its a lot to remember but once you start doing this every day your body will remember for you!
I hope this helps!
