A female United Kingdom age 51-59, anonymous writes:

i havent seen my emotionally and sometimes physical violent husband for 5 months now. i have tried to serve a divorce petition on him at his parents address but it was sent back saying not at this address. believe me if it had been any other kind of letter he would have recieved it. because this has happened it will delay my divorce, i will still get one but it will take longer now. i feel like going to his parents and telling them to tell him to stop being a d*** and acknowledge the divorce petition so we can get it over and done with or is this maybe what he is hoping that i will do therefore should i just let my solicitor deal with it even though it will take longer?

AgonyAuntAnnie agony auntI think that you should get your solicitor involved. That way at least it will be done. If you carry on trying to send letters to your husband then he will keep on ignoring them and sending them back saying not known at this address. Whereas if you get your solicitor involved then they will take action and make something happen.

My advice, get your solicitor involved.

Star_07 agony auntYes, I think you should let law enforcement and the lawyers deal with this situation. Rather than risking running into him or having an altercation with him or his family, its probably best if you simply take the next steps in filing for a divorce. You will get your divorce eventually, I think its better to play it safe.

Never been through a divorce, have once been served. You have to do what you need to do. Is it possible to hire a detective, let him snoop and track him down, then serve him? Whether at a bar, bowling alley or even restuarant, a detective might be able to get the job done fast. Yes it will cost money.
