I've always used condoms in conjunction with the pill just to be extra safe, but there were 4 or 5 times when i decided not to use condoms. My bf and i have been together more than a year, and he had an std test so i'm being responisible in that aspect. I'm just curious how one would know if they became pregnant while taking the pill? Would a simple over the counter pregnancy test tell you or would you need a blood test or a UA? Thanks!

I had sex ever since april and it broke once he pulled it out then the sperm came out... u would know I am sure u may be like me and stress ur self out. And get sick and miss it or feel like the baby is kidding.. its all in ur head love.

If your on the combined pill, like me (where you have a 7 day break) you are still protected at that time too!You have nothing to worry about really hun. If you want to be doubly safe, use condoms too like my boyfriend and I do. It is in the rarest of cases that a woman gets caught on the pill, unless she misses it a lot, or something like that.If you DID get pregnant whilst taking the pill (which is highly unlikely) you would still get all the same symptoms, and you can still take a pregnancy test to determine whether you are or not.But don't worry too much anyway, if you have missed a period, then it would be safer to take a test. If not, then just keep taking your pill as normal, and try not to fret as much.Take care x

Your periods stop when you're on the pill and you're pregnant in 99% of cases. Of course it's always possible that the person in the 1% will note and say hers didn't stop but regardless of this if your periods change at any time or if they stop it might be worth taking a test. It's almost certain you'd know from a stopped period though.
