We are not doctors on DC.I was two weeks late for my period so I took a pregnancy test today and found out I am pregnant.About 3 weeks ago I went out with my friend and tried some cocaine and weed as well as getting drunk. I have never ever done drugs in my life and never intend to do it again - but I broke up with my boyfriend that same day so was depressed, angry etc and just wanted to take my mind off things. Yes I know it was silly to do but as I said, it was the first and last time ever I will do drugs. So now I am worried and concerned about how taken those drugs about 3 weeks ago, could have affected this baby (should I decide to keep it) Would it be quite bad? Is there a high chance the baby end up with brain damage or disabilities? Thanks all

It wont be on record. Furthermore, No need to preemptively panic now. Calm down and have a conversation with a professional. you feel better afterwards.

I was surprised that I didn't find much while searching for info for you. This excerpt has information that was consistent with my first thought:
http://books.google.ca/books?id=5zd_W_PUwvYC&pg=PA85&lpg=PA85&dq=maternal+drug+use+at+the+time+of+conception&source=bl&ots=SVukpuXUdC&sig=6xcfsl2J775RvK1ljfeoA0bRBIY&hl=en&sa=X&ei=bvmiT5mJLYeYiQKQh_3QDA&ved=0CHIQ6AEwCQ#v=onepage&q=maternal%20drug%20use%20at%20the%20time%20of%20conception&f=false
If you can't follow that ridiculous link, it was the tenth result of the Google search on "maternal drug use at the time of conception", which showed: Drug Therapy in Nursing - Google Books Result
books.google.ca/books?isbn=0781765870...Diane S. Aschenbrenner, Samantha J. Venable - 2008 - Medical - 1306 pages.
Basically it suggests that right around the time of conception the fertilized egg is unlikely to be affected by what you consumed. Now that the egg has implanted, you no longer have a grace period. I'm not a doctor, so you'll want to have this checked out professionally.
While you're deciding what to do, you should be very careful about nutrition, and looking into supplements, particularly folic acid. There may be a phone service in your area where you can speak to a health care professional anonymously, to reassure yourself that a doctor or nurse isn't required to report your use of illegal substances. Since it was a one-time thing, I suspect that they would far rather you get proper care than turn you in to the police.

I am the original poster....I am just looking for general information or even sites that I can be directed to as I have not found any on my own. I am scared to ask my doctor as I don't know the reprecusions it will have as the drugs I have used are illegal not to mention it is not something I want on my permanent record. I understand people on here are not medical doctors, so clearly no one can tell me precisely. But if there are sites people could direct me to at least, then it would be helpful.
Thanks

This question should be directed to your doctor. Why would you take the advice of non-medical anonymous random people on the Internet in a matter as important as this? We're fine for things like minor heartbreaks and crushes, cheating and relationship troubles, but for this? Bad idea. Talk to your doctor ASAP. Best wishes for a healthy outcome.
