Anyone know how to overcome this, not sure if this is a mental block for her or not or if I'm doing something wrong.

Some women are unable to actually get off during penetration especially if it does hurt. However penetration isn't the be all and end all of intercourse.
Start with the build up, even before it gets to the bedroom you could cook a nice meal, prepare your wife a bath, give her a back rub after a day at work. There are loads of erogenous zones, some people have a thing for the base of the neck, others earlobes. Take time without any pressure on either of you to get to the big O.
Try some soft play things like a feather up over their arms and legs, fingers running over their lips etc.
But most of all just ask, and have a conversation, do you like that, is that doing anything for you.

If this is a new thing and your wife has previously been able to orgasm through penetrative sex, it may be worth her seeking medical advice - sudden pain during intercourse could indicate a number of things. However, MANY women cannot orgasm through penetrative sex alone. Have you tried spending time making her orgasm via foreplay/oral sex first?
You mentioned mental block - this could happen too if she has a lot on her mind. Women need to be totally relaxed and be able to concentrate in order to reach climax. If there are a million thoughts in her mind, likelihood is she'll be distracted.
Try switching things up - going slower, changing positions with constant communication to understand what's working/isn't working for her.
