 Keep your focus on keeping your mouth open then relax and let everything happen naturally. Its just a relex of your body to close your mouth so it will take some work. You can also try your tongue in his mouth to get confidence with the whole thing. This won't last forever so for the time being just concentrate until your able to relax.
